Date and time
Location
NE Extension Office - Douglas County
8015 W Center Rd Omaha, NE 68124Description
Join Stuart Shell, AIA of Forte with Daniel Glaser, PhD and Sydney Nelson of Lightstanza to learn about new metrics in daylighting.
Learning Objectives
- Learn about daylighting metrics to allow selection of the right measurement for your project.
- Develop an appreciation of different response functions of the retina and how they effect health.
- Understand various types of glare and how it is quantified.
- Develop an understanding of methods for computing relevant daylight metrics within the constraints of real project conditions.
Daylight is complicated! – the sun is always moving around. But measuring how ‘good’ it is can be even more difficult. Building owners and operators are increasingly in concerned with daylight access. This because we continue to learn about how daylight regulates sleep, diet, and mood. Join us for a detailed explanation of the latest metrics for studying daylight quality. They will also cover basic aspects of vision and how they create buildings with luminous comfort. Daniel and Sydney will demonstrate an expedient (and accurate) tool for modeling performance. Lunch is provided.
